Department of Human Services

Madware

Madware, referring to maliciously designed software intended to frustrate users, has become increasingly prevalent among government agencies. One insidious example is stall-ware, which deliberately slows down application processing times, prolonging waits for benefits. Another tactic is the proliferation of unnecessary loading screens, each one consuming minutes of precious time. These techniques aim to discourage applicants and reduce the load on overwhelmed systems, effectively shifting the burden onto the already beleaguered populace.

As software developers and coders in our sleep, this software language jumps off of the page at us like poor English. We have submitted requests to all agencies under the FOIA and when we look at this coding, it's absolutely filled with malice.

Of course, with those in real need, the agencies are playing a numbers game. Specifically, what are the odds that a person would be in need of these types of services and at the same time, have the intelligence, capabilities and resources to make heads or tails of this let alone be able to present it in a digestable way? If the answer is, 1 in millions, you're right. So, this is a relatively safe bet on the agencies behalf.

When we started asking the questions, meatware to meatware yesterday, the reaction was visible. Much like our friend at SSA went into factory reset mode, this meatware did the same and was visibly shaking although not from anger like our friend at SSA, more guilt and almost relief.

Madware for Dummies

In the event that you are not fluent in computer languages and coding, one shortcut is always to refuse these services outright and visit in person. Especially if you take public transportation, be prepared to deal with on-the-ground frustrations that are installed at the compound disguised as an agency. In the case of Colorado Department Of Human Services, you will be forced to walk around nearly the entire building and be subjected to a bulhorn, repeating: "This is a restricted area; leave immediately." This is meant to exert control and intimidate. Then, you will be hurried to the counter, your ID demanded and a ticket almost thrown at you. These are not other humans there, they are specially trained meatware, designed to be impersonal and controlling. We have submitted FOIA requests for the traning of the meatware to back this up.

On balance, the in-person visit will net you more if you can stand strong against the cacophony of intimidation because you are able to do the one thing that will bring meatware to its knees if you know how to do it and that is ask a question with an expectation of a response.

Video DHS

The Long Way

We went to DHS today and this is where we encoutered the maze. This is a common technique ised in psychological manipulation where they will establish a pattern with clearly marked signs starting you off in a direction and then just ceasing all signage and you have agreed to the pattern and are just looking for the next waypoint and don't realize that you've been hung out on Main Street, in thjs case, Federal Blvd.

Please see the poctorial to get a sense of this maze technique.

No Change, Sir

Went by DHS after we got the run-around via email that basically is trying to tell me to go away and the adults will handle it. First of all, we are not going away and you at DHS will be smart to take a heed from your friends over at SSA that introduced The Big Shift to address some very real issues with how you scam and reroute your beneficiaries. We are smarter than you, DHS, in every way and we recommend very highly that you listen to that and think about it very thoroughly. We know more than you could possibly imagine.
